Time to meet the professionals on our team! Liene Tiļļa is the designer who regularly plans and creates new Rosme Lingerie underwear and swimwear collections. Read on for professional advice on specific bra styles, and find out more about where Liene draws inspiration for new collections.
Which are your favorite Rosme bras?
I love variety in my wardrobe, including in my lingerie. In summer, I prefer light bras, with sewn or moulded cups. In winter, I enjoy wearing bras with padded cups. Right now, under my warm knits, I adore the latest True collection's classic non-wired bra, which features spacer fabric cups and padded shoulder straps. It’s a very comfortable, smooth non-wired bra that lets me go about my daily activities with ease. From the fashion collections, I like the underwire bra with soft cups, foam side cups, and padded shoulder straps. This bra gives the breasts a flattering round shape, the side details direct the breasts more toward the front, and the padded straps add extra comfort.
Which type of bra do you prefer – with or without underwires?
I like both types of bras, and my wardrobe has nearly the same ratio of each. Which one do I prefer? It depends on the season, my plans for the day, the clothes I’m planning to wear, and sometimes my mood.
If I know I'm going to engage in physical activity, I wear a bra without underwires, with moulded cups and padded shoulder straps. This bra gives me the support I need, it’s comfortable, and it doesn't restrict movement. On a calm day at work, or on a weekend with no special activities, I can choose one of the bras with underwires – it could be with soft cups, semi-padded cups, or padded cups. When choosing one of these bras, I know the breasts will be more exposed than in a non-wired bra, since underwire bras lift and shape the breasts more.
Where do you get inspiration for your new lingerie collections?
Twice a year, an exhibition takes place in Paris where various lingerie manufacturers, fabric producers, and design studios showcase their new products and visions for the upcoming season’s trends. Some of the inspiration for choosing new colors and selecting prints comes from these exhibitions. However, I also draw inspiration from previous collections and feedback from our customers, which helps us improve the product in future collections.
What types of colors, patterns, and lace do you most often choose when thinking about lingerie?
I enjoy both lace and smooth knits. For summer, I also like buying lingerie with floral prints combined with lace. As for underwear colors, I tend to favor pastel shades because they are easier to mix and match with outerwear. I rarely go for bright colors, and when I do, it has to be a specific pattern or design. The beauty lies in variety.
